Carolina hushpuppies is back! (are back! for the proper reader). We took a hiatus for awhile, but at the behest of all the family members who live farther than 3 blocks from us who'd all like to see Mr. Von Lichtenstein in action, we're open for business again. All I ask is for people to never use our last name in context or comments. I'm going to try and keep things vague enough that no one can ever google us and find our blog. Prying eyes and stalkers, you know, the usual crazies. I deleted our blog on December, so here's a quick overview of what happened this year.
January: Slumped into usual seasonal depression on January 2nd. Wished for death.
February: Went to Maui and saw that yes, indeed, there is still a sun. Seasonal depression abated long enough to get me to spring.
March: Nothing. Really, what is there in March?
April: I turned 25.
May: I survived another school year and ended it being 7 months pregnant and really mean to all my kids at school.
June: Floated in my parents' pool every. single. day. This is true. Brandon also turned 25.
July: Continued to be buoyant. My goal was to be the tannest woman to ever give birth. Mission accomplished. Also spent the time trying to get my baby to come out. I did dangerous things. My mom yelled at me.
July 20th: Helmut Von Lichtenstein (aka Ryker) entered the world at 12:38 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. I went in at 7 in the morning dilated to a 4 and was dilated to an 8 and a half within 2 and a half hours. They had to slow me down so I could get all the antibiotics. I pushed for only 8 minutes. I know, be jealous.
August: Took Ryker to Yellowstone when he was 2 weeks old. He also visited grandparents and great grandparents. I'm not really sure where the rest of August went!
Well there you have it. Goodbye for now.
