The things that matter

Lover is 6 months old today. It has gone way too fast. I'm reminded of a quote that says, "Our lives passed away like as it were unto us a dream..." I always think of this whenever Ryker hits a milestone. I want to pause time. Life seems to fly by in nothing more than a blur, especially since Ryker was born. I'm pretty sure my friend Brandon and I were just 16 years old sitting next to each other in class, writing notes back and forth.

I think I've mentioned this several times, but being a mother is by far my favorite thing ever. I know some people find it monotonous to sit and play with their baby all day, talking baby talk, and putting the needs of themselves very last. I wouldn't ever, ever trade it. There's no where else I'd rather be, any day of the week. I think that what matters in this life is how we treat the gifts we are given. How did you treat your children? How did you treat your husband or wife? How did you show them you love them? Sure you told them, but did you show them? Did you spend time with them? If you can't answer these questions, then I truly feel sorry for you. I feel sorry for the beautiful things in life that you are missing out on. Certain things in this life MATTER, other things do not.
