January haze

I didn't realize it had been two months since I last posted. Maybe it's because I've been in a January haze. Hazy skies, hazy brain. January is my least favorite month. Here's what's going on in our family:

- Brandon has sent applications to the following graduate schools for their Marriage and Family Therapy programs: BYU, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Utah State. He will also send off applications to East Carolina University and the University of Oregon by the end of January. He has an interview in Kansas in February, and we're hoping to hear from the other schools in the next couple of weeks. I'm not just saying this because I'm biased, but he has a very impressive application and resume. He'll graduate Cum Laude in 14 weeks from Weber State. He is working with a child abuse center this semester and going into people's homes to teach about preventing child abuse. Brandon is what I like to call my "statistical anomaly". Everything he has accomplished speaks exactly opposite of things he has experienced in his life. I couldn't be more proud of him.

- Ryker is now two and a half and has lots to say. He doesn't put sentences together yet, but I've been told that boys develop slower with speech. We FINALLY ditched the binky (yay!!) He LOVES trains and airplanes. He lays on the floor a lot of the day and plays with his trains.

-Hannah will be 5 months old on February 1st. I can't believe how fast the time goes. She is smaller than Ryker was and her skin is not as fair. She is a very happy baby and sleeps 8 or 9 hours at night. She never makes a peep all night. It's pretty nice. Now if we could only get Ryker to stay in his bed all night.

- Lisa - I am just doing the stay-at-home mom thing. I should probably leave the house more, but I am a homebody. That's probably why I've been in a January haze, because it seems like all my days just blend together. We live with my parents, which has saved us a LOT of money and we've been able to pay off a lot of bills before we move for school, but at the same time it's hard when you don't have your own kitchen, pantry, fridge, etc. and almost everything you own is in storage. I hate living life in limbo, just waiting for something, but that's how I'm feeling lately. I need to get out more. Ha ha. However, Brandon did get me a Kindle Fire for Christmas, which I have LOVED. So far I've read 5 novels. I think I'll have to do a book review here in a while.

Here are a bunch of pictures from the last couple of months.

This was one of the funnest date nights we've ever had. We went to the Spaghetti Factory, City Creek, and Temple Square with David and Erica for Erica's birthday.

Ryker is a master at trying to put lime juice on his breakfast burritos. Really, he doesn't even squeeze it, he just waves it over his food.
