Our Reclusive Life

Hi, my name is Lisa, and I have not left the house for 5 days. I think I've really left the house less than 5 times the whole month. My car has a foot of snow on top. Sometimes I think, hey, I need to go to the store and get (insert important food item here). But that feeling only lasts for a minute. Then I think, no, we can live without Dr. Pepper. And soap. Ha ha, just kidding, I could never live without Dr. Pepper.

I am so sick of illness in this house. It seems like we have been rotating sickness since Christmas. Yucky. Lay on one side, breathe through only one nostril, lay on the other side to even them out. You know what I'm talking about. Maybe I need to take my kids and have them rub snot with other kids at the mall playground. Maybe that will cure us, because our quarantine has backfired.

Some days I think, why did I even get dressed today? Why did I waste a day's worth of makeup? And when I don't, those are the days that I inevitably have to leave the house and I run into people I know. Like the other night at Kohl's. I looked like I rolled out of the underbelly of Walmart. I hadn't showered, I had only had about an hour of sleep the night before, no makeup, sweats. You get the picture. That's when I see some kid about 14 years old staring at me, and then avoiding eye contact as soon as I look to see why this kid is staring at me. Yes, you guessed it, a former student. I hate that. I pretended I didn't see him and walked away because I was so mortified. I'm a horrible person.

Hannah is 5 months old on February 1st. She is the best baby. She sleeps from 10 at night until 7ish in the morning. I should go to bed before 1 a.m. more often so that I can take advantage of this. She loves her feet and loves to be held close and cuddled. Her favorite food is milk. Ha ha.

Ryker has been on a little bit of a naughty streak. I think he's testing his limits. He is such a funny kid. He told me today that sharks eat babies. He's got an amazing memory, and he just leaves me in awe of how much he picks up on. He still loves trains, airplanes, and has recently really been into sharks, cheetahs, and tigers. Oh, and baby animals. He loves baby animals.

I'm super tired now. 12:31 a.m. Why do I do this every night?
Here's some pictures I've taken with my phone the last few weeks, because I've been too lazy to charge my real camera.

I like this picture because they are holding hands.

He's growling in this picture. He was a tiger that morning.

Waiting by the oven very (im)patiently for cookies.

Ryker and his cousin Cooper having some man movie time.

Ryker made himself a very nice bed on the treadmill one day.
