Brandon left at 5:30 a.m. for the University of Nebraska. He interviewed today, and flies home tomorrow. Then he will be home until next Thursday (Valentine's Day) and he and I will fly out together to Oklahoma State University. He interviews Friday, and we fly home Saturday morning at 6 a.m. We get into Salt Lake at 9:45 a.m., head straight to our family pictures, then straight to a family dinner, then we take Brandon back to the airport that very same night so he can catch a midnight flight to interview at East Carolina University. He interviews Monday (18th), flies home Tuesday evening (he has the most layovers on this particular trip). Then we will see him Wednesday (yay!) and he will fly out to Kansas State Thursday at 6 a.m., interview on Friday, and fly home on Saturday. If you were keeping track that is 4 interviews in a two week time period, and each trip is a 3 day process. Busy, busy, busy!! So here we are, two days into me being without my partner in crime. The one who does all things bedtime for Ryker.
Ryker has been a leeeeeetle bit....naughty. I starting writing down some of the things I've had to tell him the last two days. Here is a sample:
Why is there a booger in your eyebrow?
Don't suck on your toe!
Don't poke your peepee with the raptor tail! (that was a bathtub toy incident)
Don't wipe your nose on the page of the book!
Don't lick Hannah!
Don't dump out the garbage!
We don't climb on bookcases!
We don't put tape measures around our necks!
You can't just have jalapeno cheetos for lunch!
Don't suck on your fingers! (This is a new habit. It's disgusting. The kid's always got spit dripping off his hands. Maybe if he only sucked on one finger, but he puts his whole hand in his mouth. He looks like he's eating a hoagie roll.)
I've been a "NO" mom this weekend. I hate being that mom.
Here's Ryker, answering my questions to what he wants to eat. I was asking him things like, "Do you want to eat dog food for breakfast? Do you want to eat a dirty diaper for breakfast? Do you want to eat a blanket for breakfast?" At first he was horrified by these questions. Would Mommy really make me eat a dirty diaper for breakfast? But then he figured out it was a game.
She originally fell asleep playing with some sort of a curly cord, but that wasn't cute at all, so I put the teddy bear there for dramatic effect.
First cereal
Hannah's station every morning until about 9. She is the best sleeper ever.
"Oh, the naughty things I'm cooking up in my head, Mommy! Hee hee hee hee!!!"
You also may be asking yourself why there are boxes of Dr. Pepper in the crib. Doesn't everyone store Dr. Pepper in a baby crib?
Ryker knows that Daddy went on an airplane, and he was very excited about that.
We miss our Daddy!
This was adorable. Ryker wanted Hannah on the chair next to him and he showed her pictures in a book.
The next few pictures are in order. Hannah woke up at midnight last night, and she was just thrilled to be alive!! But she was so tired while she was smiling and laughing that she could hardly keep her eyes open. It was so funny.
Now I need to go do all the laundry, so I can pretend I've been working on my housewifery skills while Brandon's been gone.
