Lions and tigers and bears

Every morning Ryker climbs in our bed and says, "Yiyon" to tell us he wants to watch the lion. He looooooves the Lion King. You can say a line from the movie, and he'll say, "Yiyon!" For the record, it's one of my most unfavorite Disney movies. He also got a book for his birthday from Grandma Eddy that has Disney stories. There's probably 50 stories in this book, and the ONLY one he will let us read to him is the one with Simba and Nala.
While Brandon was taking his GRE at the U today, I took Ryker to the zoo. The last time we went was pretty lame, most of it was under construction, but this time most of it was opened up. It was a lot more exciting. It's a good thing David and Erica came, because they did most of my work with Ryker. I just tried to waddle along and keep up.

Ryker may or may not have found that sucker on the ground at the zoo. It's okay, it was wrapped :)

 Angry bird.

Ryker and Sophie checking out the otters and sea lions.

I think this polar bear is trained to come right up to the window. He pops up, does a little flip, swims around, then pops up at the window again.

 Sophie the bear.

Ryker chased this peacock around for a bit while we discussed how a peacock might taste.

Ryker's says "mama" for monkey, monster, and mama. You might think it's just because they sound similar, but I think he secretly thinks they're all synonyms.

It was super hot. He gets really red and flushed when he's been out in the heat too long.

Do you know how rare it is for me to get a picture like this? One where he's actually smiling and looking at the camera. About one in a million.

  1. He is adorable. I was just thinking about the zoo. I am considering taking the kids there on Thursday and I wonder if it is worth it (I will be all alone with three kids, I'm not sure I can handle it alone.) I laughed about your "mama, monkey, and monsters" sentence. You are funny.
