We haven't been up to much the last couple of weeks. We've mostly just hung around at home, gone to a park or two, and taken care of errands. Real exciting stuff. Here's what's been happening.
Brandon: He starts his assistantship next Monday at the clinic, and school officially starts a week later. These few weeks have been a good break for him, but he is excited to start school! I will be sad when school starts though and Brandon is gone all day. He says he will really miss being at home with us everyday.
Ryker: He has a lot to say lately. Here's a little story. I was in the kitchen today, and Ryker was watching Ice Age in the living room. I heard him screaming, "NO!!! NOOOOO!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" I ran in there, and he's got this horrified look on his face. I looked at the TV and the movie was at the part where the sabertooth tiger is chasing the woman and her baby. He's still screaming, "NOOOOOOO!!!!" He's nearly in tears, and he gets up and runs to the TV and turns it off. I was laughing silently and hysterically behind the wall where he couldn't see me. I should not have laughed that hard.
Hannah: She loves to play with her toys and with Ryker. They have this game where they get on the big bed and roll all around and crawl over and under all the pillows and hide from each other. They think it's the greatest game in the world. She also eats like a full-grown man, but is still a petite little lady. She's had an ear infection the last few days, which has been sad. She's also getting 4 teeth on the top.
Yours truly: I've been really enjoying bossing everyone around at home. I think it's my calling in life. I can get Brandon to do just about any chore if I rub his back, and I can get Ryker to do just about anything if I offer him chocolate chips. Ha. I've been trying to get a little flower garden going. Here's something I will never understand (young people, take note!): Just because you RENT a place, doesn't mean it has to look like trash outside. Even if you have no money for flowers, bushes, etc., you can still mow the lawn and pull the weeds. We've been dealing with a yard that obviously hasn't been properly cared for in a LONG time. Weeds. Ugh, the weeds. Weeds everywhere. And rocks in the flower beds. Stupid little lava rocks. Throwing rocks into some dirt is not an okay way to landscape. It still doesn't look great now, but I guess it looks better than when we got here.
Ryker playing peek-a-boo with his cousin Sophie over Skype.
Someday I'll be able to get a nice picture of them together. Someday.
Let me say, the last few days in our house haven't been very fun. Hannah has been pretty sick, and therefore has not slept much. She crawled into Ryker's bedroom this morning, and laid on the floor, and broke my heart in the process. She wasn't even asleep in the top picture, she just was resting her eyes for a few seconds. Poor baby.
