Yesterday at school, I was playing a Christmas song trivia with my kids. I would say the line of a song, and then they had to tell me what came next. Here's how it went:
Me: I'm dreaming of a white Christmas with every.....?
All the kids are raising their hands, answering things like, " With everyone!" and "With every friend!" Then one of my boys innocently hilarious boys raises his hand and says,
"With every girl in town!"
So funny.
Anyway, here are some things going around here:
1. As long as I live, I'm never going back to work full time. I love being home. I love playing with Ryker all day and going about my business at home. It's the best thing ever. Somebody asked me the other day if I look forward to the days I get out of the house and work. The answer is a big fat NO.
2. Brandon had a toothache last week. It was hurting him so bad, he had to get into the dentist immediately. When he went, they had to extract the tooth (which was a molar). As a few days went on, the pain kept getting worse and worse. We got online and looked some things up, and I got a flashlight and looked into his mouth. In the place where the tooth had been, there was a straight gaping hole to the bone. Upon further review, we determined this was dry socket. The dentist was SO nice and told us to meet him at the office on Sunday afternoon, where he packed the socket with this weird smelling stuff. He's feeling better, but I've never seen anybody in so much pain. Poor dude.
3. My sister-in-law told me I should write a book about my life with Brandon. She said it would be really funny. But then Brandon said he would sue me, so I guess I'll have to wait until he dies. Or I kill him. Whichever comes first.
4. Ryker started waking up in the night again a few weeks ago. I decided he was doing this on purpose to get back at me because he sucked on a pink binky for a few weeks and because he knows I no longer actually stay up to feed him, I just put him in bed with me and go back to sleep while he eats. Then he conveniently falls asleep cuddled up with me. Doesn't even have the courtesy to get up and go back to his crib. This child is a cunning one. So I decided to refuse to feed my child in the night. (It's fine everyone, his little sausage fingers can't dial DCFS, no worries.) I know he can go 9 or 10 hours at night. So all I do is get up and pop the binky in his mouth, and he goes back to sleep for 4 or 5 hours. Crisis averted.
5. Brandon has been accusing me of wearing his pajama pants in public. Fine, I'll admit, it's true. But you see, when I wear my pajama pants, I can't leave the house in them, because that's just kind of trashy. But when I put on his pajama pants, I feel like this is an acceptable form of outerwear that I can do a multitude of things in outside my house, while still being comfortable. It's perfectly logical, and something everyone should consider when going out in public. "Is that girl wearing pajamas? Oh, no, how silly, they look like her husband's pajama pants. That does look classy indeed, I should try that sometime."
6. I like that my brother David lives only up the street from me. Him and Erica come over on my days off and hilarity ensues.
Here's some pictures of Ryker today.
A bad case of dripping snot.
Lisa, I love the fact that you LOVE to stay home with your cute little boy!!!! Good for you. That is exactly how I felt as a young mom and I still am sad that I have to work. Being a mom and being home is the best thing. I am so glad that you can do it.
ReplyDeleteI also wear pajama pants out in public - David calls them my pirate pants.
Your brother David is the funniest person I have ever met!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my he gets me laughing.
So I read this blog last week, and then today when I was reading a fashion blog and they linked to Harper's Bazaar and this is what it said, "TOP SPRING 2011 TRENDS FROM NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
ReplyDeleteWhat we saw on the Spring 2011 runway in New York — minimal whites, bold colors, pajama dressing, and a hefty dose of '70s sensibility — is getting us excited for the season." The pajama dressing reminded me of this post, and now you have proof for Brandon that it is the up and coming style for 2011. You're a trend setter.
